What Supperly stores

To plan meals for you, the app keeps the things you tell it: your first name (optional), household size, cooking days, diets, allergies, ingredients to avoid, what is in your cupboard, calorie and macro goals, your meal plans, grocery lists, favourites, ratings and notes, the meals you create (including any photo you add), and food you log. This information is stored on your device.

iCloud backup and sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, Supperly keeps that information in your private iCloud database so it follows you to your other devices and survives a new phone. It is stored by Apple under your Apple ID. We do not run servers that hold it and we cannot see it. Apple's own privacy policy applies to iCloud.

Sign in with Apple (optional)

You can sign in with Apple during setup or in Settings. Apple may share your name and an email address (or a private relay address) with the app. Supperly keeps these on your device to greet you and to show that you are signed in. Nothing is sent to us.

Camera, microphone and speech

• Camera: used only to scan food barcodes or to read a photographed recipe. Barcode scanning happens on your device. Photos used to import a recipe are read on your device with Apple's text recognition and are not uploaded by Supperly.
• Microphone and speech recognition: used only if you turn on voice commands while cooking (such as "next step"). Speech is recognised using Apple's speech recognition, which may process audio on Apple's servers under Apple's terms. Supperly does not record, save or send your voice anywhere else.

Each of these needs your permission and you can change it any time in iOS Settings.

Looking up foods and recipes

• Barcode lookup: when you scan a barcode, the app sends that barcode number to Open Food Facts, a free community food database, to get the product name and nutrition. No name or account detail is sent, but, as with any web request, their servers will see your IP address. See Open Food Facts' own privacy policy.
• Import from a link: if you paste a recipe link, the app downloads that page directly from the website you chose.

Notifications, widgets and Live Activities

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Home Screen widgets and cooking timers show a summary of your plan, which is shared between the app and its widgets on your device only.

Purchases

Supperly Plus is a subscription sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and gives the app a confirmation that you are subscribed. We never see your card or payment details.

Crash and performance reports

Supperly uses Apple's built-in diagnostics. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may make anonymous crash reports available to us. We use no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or hand it to third parties. The only services involved are Apple (iCloud, Sign in with Apple, speech recognition, the App Store) and Open Food Facts for barcode lookups, as described above.

Your choices

• See your data: Settings → Your data → Export my data gives you a file of your plan, groceries, favourites and meals.
• Delete your data: Settings → Your data → Reset everything clears your household, plan, lists, favourites and ratings, including from iCloud and your other devices. Deleting the app removes the data on that device. To remove everything held in iCloud, use iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
• Permissions: change camera, microphone, speech and notification access in iOS Settings.

Children

Supperly is a general-audience meal planner and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will say so in the app.
